Mild hybrid? Full hybrid? What's the difference? Well, we're glad you asked. Mild hybrid offers a little electric help when your petrol engine needs it most. Full hybrid uses a combination of electric motor and a petrol engine, alternating as it goes to get you the best performance. Either way, you get lower costs and lower CO2 emissions*.The S-Cross Full Hybrid is equipped as standard with Auto Gear Shift (AGS) that automatically shifts the manual transmission and gear ratios that are optimised to help provide a good combination of performance and fuel economy. This enables the driver to enjoy both the direct driving experience of a manual gearbox and the shifting ease of an Automatic Transmission. Another key advantage is lower component weight versus a conventional torque converter type Automatic. The transmission also has a manual mode with steering wheel mounted shift paddles.
One notable feature of the latest hybrid system with AGS is the position of the Motor Generator Unit on the output side of the transmission assembly. In doing this, output from the MGU is directly transmitted to the driveshafts to fill the torque gap during shifting and provides a smoother transition from the transmission.

Thinking about Personal Contract Hire?
How it worksPersonal Contract Hire works by choosing from an initial rental payment in advance of 1-12 months, you then set the contract term between 2-5 years. You then decide your annual mileage limit – the minimum is 5,000 and the maximum varies by vehicle. If your circumstances change during your agreement you may be able to amend your contracted mileage. You can also then decide whether to add an optional maintenance package at an additional cost.
At the end of the contract you must return the car and you’ll have nothing more to pay if the vehicle condition is in line with BVRLA guidelines and hasn’t exceeded the maximum agreed annual mileage.
If the vehicle doesn’t meet the mileage and condition terms, then excess charges will apply. You will not own the car.
