    4 weeks to take delivery of a used carI will start by saying that looking for the vehicle to purchase the salesman couldn’t do enough and am more than happy with this section the purchase. This however is where it seemed to go wrong , I was promised a delivery time of 4 days which turned into a week then into 2 then eventually into the 4 week delivery . I found the salesman to be quite rude at times and unprofessional often given me excuses which another sales team member told me was wrong. 4 weeks later and I took delivery of the vehicle only to hear a knocking noise driving it away and when I took it back to the salesman the only answer he had wasdo you want to return the vehiclewhich was not the answer I was looking for. 2 days later I collected it from the service department and I will say the service department have been great in my view , they were honest with me , informed me what the issue was and how’d they sorted it. Explained to me the costs of what’s happened which only proves the salesman’s lies. So the service department were outstanding and there is no issue with them at all from my view. Drayton motors did give me a car to use (picanto) while I was waiting for my car. I did speak to the manager and the general manager eventually who apparently didn’t know anything about what was happening and the delays but offered no resolution to the matter. I was never offered an apology or any form of compensation for the delays and issues. To put this into perspective we as a household bought another vehicle from a different main dealer and ordered it on the Friday and collected on the Monday with gifts and a full tank of full as a thank you for purchasing from them. No it’s not about what you can get out of a company but the little gestures go along way

    Hi Mr Rees. Firstly, I do wish to begin by saying sorry that you’ve felt the need to leave us a negative review despite our best efforts for you. It’s never our intention to make customers feel this way, but we certainly tried our best to ensure you were satisfied. If I may, I would like to make things a bit clearer to re-emphasise why the delay occurred. Initially, you purchased the vehicle in good faith from us here at Louth on the 5th April, but with it being located at our Bolton dealership at point of sale. We had to wait a little while for the vehicle to arrive given the distance and logistics between the two sites so that didn’t help and it finally arrived with us on the 15th April. It also didn’t help that the vehicle had only just come in to stock at our Bolton dealership so hadn’t yet been mechanically or cosmetically prepared. Upon arrival, as we are all aware, it became apparent that it required extensive preparation to make sure that it was of the best condition for you. We prepare all of our used vehicles to the highest standard and take great pride in making sure that all Warranty work is carried out, any Recalls are sorted and any further preparation that falls below standard is sorted. Upon collection on the 26th April, and only this long as you had prior commitments, as you mentioned, it became apparent that the Sales Executive you mentioned did get a little confused with what work had been carried out. However, as we both discussed on the day, it wasn’t intentional – it was simply down to him trying to reassure you that we had gone to great lengths to ensure your happiness and had prepared the vehicle correctly for you. I’m also gutted to hear that you found him rude, that is probably one of the only times I’ve ever heard that turn of phrase with regards to this individual in the almost 20 years I’ve known and worked with him in the motor trade. I can only apologise, but I know full well that that isn’t in his nature. I would also like to touch on the gesture you mentioned that we didn’t offer, but we certainly tried our absolute best to keep you happy and mobile at all times with the use of a car – I can assure you there’s not many other dealerships out there that would go to the lengths we did to try and ensure you complete satisfaction. I would also like to point out that I offered an apology to you the day that I met you as well, but also tried to reassure you that it was all for the best and to prepare the car to the highest standard. Finally, with regards to the offer of returning the vehicle and the offer of buying it back from you, I would also say that we did that to continue to show good faith given how your patience had been tested. We were always up front with you to give you the chance to find another vehicle or dealership to purchase a car from and held up no barriers at any time to make you go ahead with the purchase. We offered this mid sale and we offered it post sale to show the upmost good faith and our commitment to providing you with an excellent car that would suit your needs.     We found Sean very friendly and helpful. He realised we were unlikely to buy a vehicle from them but still generously gave his time to show us the EV6. It’s only fair to say, we don’t intend to buy a car from any main dealer again, so this is not a negative against Drayton Motors in Louth.

    Drayton Motors, LouthA long way from home for me, 205 mikes), but worth every penny to go & view a Kia at Drayton Motors. The car was exactly the spec & colour I was looking for. It was a long drive to view the car, but it was spot on. Not a mark on the vehicle & exactly as described. The salesman I dealt with was Sean & he was very professional & very welcoming. He was not pushy in any way whatsoever. He answered all my questions & made the process of buying very easy. I went back a week later to collect the car. I was picked up from Grimsby Railway Station by Steve, from Drayton Motors, who was also very nice. My new car was gleaming on arrival at the showroom & I honestly could not be happier.     I bought a Kia Ceed on 9th of May 2024 and dealt with a gentleman called Kyle Dancer, he talked to me and asked what I was looking for, once we had discussed this we went out to look at various cars, I found one that I liked so we went for a test drive and that was the one. Kyle sorted out all the paperwork re taxing etc and made it such an easy transition.     As my brand new EV Kia Nero is faulty and when I called to book it in, after being told 3 weeks is the earliest availability, I asked if they would please charge it for me as the nearest charge point for me is 6 miles for my home and i have a very vulnerable 13 year old daughter hence the Motability car, I was refused and told to go back to the York dealership I received the car from which is 40 miles from my home. The car is not charging to the 285 miles I was quoted and the range on the vehicle is far from optimal using 100 miles for a 57 mile journey despite my careful driving. I have never dealt with such a lack of compassion or assistance from a company.

    Absolutely the best experience buying a used car ever, our salesman Wayne made us feel comfortable from the stars the car was exactly how he described it on the phone and when we arrived at the showroom, he was there to greet us offered us coffee or tea while he went to get the car for us,then 2 days after we bought the car we received messages and a phone call from Wayne to check we was happy with our purchase, Really nice guy, there’s no doubt in my mind when I buy another car Drayton Motors will be my first stop.     I had a great experience buying my used 2023 Kia Sportage 1.6T gdi ISG from Drayton Motors Scunthorpe. I was looked after from start to finish by Chloe, one of the Sales Family. She dealt with me from my first phone call, to the handover, and I was offered excellent coffee whenever in the showroom. She even picked me up from the station. The car was valeted to a high degree including optional Diamondbrite Ceramic Protection treatment in and out, also to a high standard. I can recommend these guys if your looking for a great used Kia.

    PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF BUYING FROM A DISTANCE! We feel like it's import to share our experience as distance buyers with Kia motors Drayton. We decided to purchase a Black Kia Sportage GT Line S as our first family car, we are expecting in August. The experience initially was great, Sean was very helpful, sent us a number of videos and reassured us that they sold to customers all over the country, and if we purchased the vehicle and weren’t satisfied, it could be returned for a full refund. As there are many good reviews for this business we felt like comfortable proceeding on this basis. We transfered £18,600 for the black Kia Sportage GT Line S, a 2019 model with low mileage. It was a 416 mile round trip to collect the vehicle, there was a viewing and a part exchange which was all fine and I set off driving the 208 mile journey home. 70 miles into the journey the car malfunctioned on a busy duel carriage way roundabout, when accelerating from the traffic lights. Upon pressing the accelerator the dual clutch Transmission (automatic gearbox) couldn't get into the correct mode to accelerate, meaning when pulling out from a junction the car had no power, this nearly caused a major crash and I managed to crawl into a lay-by. A terrifying experience as I am 6 months pregnant and had no reception to call my partner. After turning the engine on and off, it started as normal but the car had issues several times on the way home, trying to overtake a car in the slow lane the vehicle couldn’t accelerate above 60 mph. So given this traumatic experience we wanted to immediately return the vehicle, which is where everything became difficult. We were told we could be fully refunded but it was our responsibility to return the vehicle to there site (even though the vehicle was clearly unsafe to drive and the engine light on indicating something is wrong), the other option is take this vehicle to a local garage to get it diagnosed, so we enquired about this and there is a 4week wait for an appointment, but realistically after spending £18,600 pounds waiting a month without a vehicle to have this clear issue "diagnosed" just wasn't something we had the time or interest in doing. We now know this is a common issue with these vehicles just google "Gt Line DCT auto problemAs it's our responsibility to return this vehicle I have to drive a dangerous vehicle 208 miles as well as being charged £1 per mile driven, or incur the cost of getting it transported on the back of a low loader, which I opted for in the end, given the clear issue with the vehicle we felt Kia Drayton should have covered this cost, which they didn't. After sharing a picture of the engine light faults, they did waive the £1 per mile cost but refused to incur the cost of transporting the vehicle back to Louth. This whole experience left us out of pocket £600, multiple near crash incidents and just completely stressed out, not what you want when you’re 6 months pregnant. Clearly a lot of these issues come from us being distance buyers is why we cannot recommend Drayton motors to anyone purchasing from afar, things may have been simpler if we lived locally. A final word of warning to anyone buying a Kia, be cautious of this issue with the DCT gearbox, it's very dangerous and we have since noticed lots of low mileage vehicles with multiple owners, it wouldn’t surprise me if this was the reason why. We will be buying a new car locally this time and it certainly won't be a Kia.

I’m sorry that you have chosen to leave us such a disappointing review, but alongside your point of view on this situation I think it’s only right that we allow the general public to see our side of it. Upon purchasing the Sportage, we presented you with the opportunity to review the Distance Selling Regulations which outline both of our responsibilities when transacting from a distance. This clearly outlines what you need to do should you wish to return a vehicle which is actually no different to any other business. We were there for you from the moment you let us know you had suffered a problem and run through various options for you. As there was no warning light on the dashboard that would prompt to a running fault with the car, we suggested that you look to get the car diagnosed given that the issue you suffered didn’t present itself again once you had got the vehicle home. None of us could be sure of what the issue was without an expert diagnosing the problem. No-one could be certain of it being linked to the DCT gearbox and that’s just a theory that may not have foundation without diagnosis. We accepted your request to return the vehicle under the Distance Selling Right straight away and without objection. You signed this agreement prior to purchasing the car so you knew what the downsides were to dealing from a distance. We cannot treat anyone with any preference under FCA regulations and must treat all customers equally. Once you presented the engine management light being displayed too, we advised you that we would take the vehicle back under the Consumer Rights Act 2015’s short term right to reject. We advised this and we prompted this right for you to show that we are committed to helping people with concerns and issues. Not every sale we go through can be perfect, but we certainly put no barriers up and helped you all the way throughout. With regards to you having to cover the cost of returning the vehicle, this is also common throughout any retail experience. If you purchased a TV from on online retailer and opted to return it, they would insist you covered the cost too. It’s simply just something you have to do when purchasing from a distance. I’m sorry that this didn’t work out for you, but I certainly do not believe we have done anything wrong and we helped you quickly and efficiently all the way throughout. I wish you all the best with finding a vehicle more locally to you. Lee Jones (Head of Business).

    Collected our Kia ceed sportswagon last week. I couldn’t be happier. I would like to say a massive thank you to Lucas for literally going the extra mile to collect it from the Scunthorpe branch to bring it closer for us to test drive. We had three long weeks without a car and were using my brother to look around. Out of everywhere we visited we felt at ease asking any questions. Great information given with no pressure to buy.     Daniel and Jack made the experience of selecting, sorting out finance and collection of my car so so simple. Didn’t feel pressured at all and Dan was super reasonable with negotiating a price and term that suited me best! Absolutely in love with the car and Jack made the handover process super straightforward - two really professional and sound guys and I’d recommend them to anyone!

    Looked at swapping my sportage for a newer version, Richard arranged some test drives, helped me decide which model was best for me, even sorted the log book and car tax! He made the whole process go smooth, painless and hassle free and 48 hours later with thanks to the service team too!, I was driving off in my superb sportage. Definitely recommend Drayton kia!
