Drumming up some extra donations
  • One man’s trash is another man’s treasure

It’s always great when a member of the team has a ‘lightbulb’ moment and this has most recently happened with John Smith, Kia Technician at our dealership in Boston. Whilst we already dispose of waste oil in an environmentally safe way, the oil drums were beginning to mount up and John suggested that they are worth more than scrap to some people who can put them to good use!

The Drayton Motors team are constantly looking at ways to make our business and what we do more sustainable and consider our environmental impact with initiatives such as the Buy a Car – Get One Tree campaign – read more here.

The oil drums were subsequently advertised and snapped up by a willing buyer! It was decided that the monies received, £110, should been put to good use by being donated to a very important charity based in Lincolnshire - LIVES. A thank you for all the hard work that the volunteers do, every day of the year.

Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service or LIVES for short is a charity that responds to 999 medical emergencies, they have a commitment to saving lives, whatever it takes. Whether they’re providing rapid first response support on their doorstep, or highly specialised medical interventions around the clock and across the county. It’s what they do. This isn’t a job. This is a life choice, that all LIVES’ volunteers share.
