MULTIPLE AWARDS FOR KIA AT 2022 BUSINESS CAR AWARDS

Kia UK has been presented with significant industry awards at the 2022 Business Car Awards, not least of which goes to the all-new Sportage.

• The all-new Sportage, the fifth generation of the popular SUV, was named as the outright winner at the awards and declared the best ‘New Company Car of the Year’. The model was also named its class winner as ‘Best Medium SUV’.

  Martyn Collins, Editor of Business Car, said: “The new Sportage is a medium SUV at the top of its game. The new Sportage’s distinctive styling shows Kia’s new design confidence, and fleet drivers who can’t make the jump to EV will be happy with the choice of electrified powertrains. All models are also well-equipped and the attractive interior is impressively practical.”

  In addition to the Sportage’s pair of awards, Kia UK was named as ‘Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’, with judges noting the brand’s new and updated models launched within the last year that make the Kia range one of the youngest and best equipped in the industry. Fleet customers play an important role in Kia’s sales success, which has seen it become the number one brand in the UK in the sector so far this year.

  Collins added: “Kia UK now offers one of the most comprehensive and modern model line-ups in the country. Fleets have a choice of eco powertrain options including fully electric, plug-in hybrid and full hybrid options. Supporting this, Kia’s fleet sales have soared in recent years, which reflects new adoption by businesses for Kia’s models.”

  The all-new Kia Sportage was launched earlier this year to widespread acclaim and for the first time available electrified powertrains. The practical, family and fleet-friendly SUV was awarded the coveted five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP, scoring an impressive 87 per cent for adult occupant protection and 86 per cent for child occupant protection.
