Swift hybrid voted as best small car at UK Car of The Year Awards

Suzuki is very pleased to announce that Swift hybrid has won a further accolade as the winner of the small car category at the 2025 UK Car of The Year Awards (UKCOTY). Swift was voted as the winner by the judges who recently put it through some rigorous testing against its key rivals.

  • Commenting on their decision, several views from the jury members included:

“Practical, good-value small cars are few and far between these days, but it’s Suzuki to the rescue with the Swift, which provides honest motoring at a reasonable price, and with low running costs to boot. It’s good fun to drive and comes with plenty of equipment, even in its most basic form,” Alex Robbins.

“The Swift strikes the right balance between good value, economy and curb appeal. Although it's a small car, its square proportions make the boot space – especially with the seats down – very practical,” Trinity Francis.

“An unbeatable combination of reliability and efficiency, thanks to its straightforward powertrain. In a market filled with complex vehicles, the Swift offers a refreshing simplicity, all while maintaining an affordable price tag that makes it accessible for a wide range of drivers,” Natisha Chatten.

Introduced in Spring 2024, the latest model Swift hybrid has been very well received with its high level of standard equipment offering all the technology you need as well as further increased safety specification. COemissions are very low too at just 99g/km along with a very competitive price of £19,199 for the Motion model with manual transmission.

Standard equipment for Swift Motion grade is very comprehensive and includes 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, navigation, rear view camera, rear parking sensors, Adaptive Cruise Control, wireless smartphone link display audio, keyless entry & start, Driver Monitoring System, Dual Sensor Brake Support (upgraded), Lane Departure Warning and Weaving Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor and enhanced Traffic Sign Recognition.

Ultra grade adds 16-inch polished alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, rear passenger heater outlet and electric folding door mirrors incorporating side turn indicators.

For customers looking at finance options, the hybrid Swift range is currently available with a 0% PCP agreement and, taking the Motion model with manual transmission as an example, a deposit of £4,996 is required followed by 24 monthly payments of just £139. An optional final payment is then required to keep the car at the end of the agreement.

Up to seven years warranty is also offered once the car reaches the end of its manufacturer warranty period and is booked in for its next scheduled service within the Suzuki Dealer network. This warranty is offered free of charge to customers and stays in place until the next qualifying service. At this point it is then simply renewed again up to a maximum vehicle age of 7 years / 100,000 miles - whichever comes first.
