Lucy Christian & Formula Women

Lucy Christian visited our Wilson and Co Scunthorpe dealership to test drive a Vauxhall Corsa-e in preparation for competing in the Formula Women Racing Competition. We have a video below which she filmed whilst driving the Corsa-e highlighting the driving ability and comfort.

We loved Lucy and her review so much that we asked her to send us in some more information about herself and her ambitions, please read the article below:

Wanting to become a racing driver has always been a burning passion of mine from a young age, I love the speed, the sounds, the smell, the whole adrenaline rush of it all

However…. I became a mum very young, and my life and priorities changed. My family has grown over the years, so my focus and commitments are my children, I put myself on the back burner….

But recently an opportunity presented itself to me to apply for Formula Woman so I just couldn’t let that pass me by. Not only is this giving me the support and opportunity to help more women get into the world of motorsport, which as for a woman has in the past been a challenging area to get into -  it is also building an incredible community of likeminded passionate woman from all walks of life. I genuinely have made some friends for life. The journey so far for me has just been incredible and experiences I have had so far are bucket list things that I never thought I would get to do – I have even been on the radio!!

The end goal?

Make it through to the very end and race in the McLaren GT4 next year in the GT Cup Championship.

Even if I don’t make it to the final stages of the competition I wish to continue within motorsport and use the skills I will have gained through the process. Formula Woman will also be there to help support so that I can continue on that path and keep encouraging more woman to get into motorsport.
