Vauxhall Frontera returns as an all-electric family SUV

Vauxhall is reintroducing the Frontera as an all-electric SUV in their expanding electric car lineup.

  • Only a teaser image has been released, displaying a strong-looking front-end and boxy SUV silhouette. Vauxhall MD, James Taylor, explains that the new Frontera will have a confident character and will be positioned in the core of the market.

The design of the new Frontera will be a rugged interpretation of Vauxhall's design philosophy, taking cues from their current models like the Mokka, Astra, and facelifted Corsa. The brand assures that the new model will continue their tradition of providing affordable mobility at an attractive price.

Based on the silhouette and Vauxhall's comments, it is likely that the new Frontera will share similarities with the upcoming seven-seat C3 Aircross from Citroen. This suggests that the car will utilize the Stellantis 'Smart Car' platform and a lithium ferro phosphate battery to maintain affordability. It is also possible that the new Frontera will offer seven seats to fill the gap in Vauxhall's current range.

Expect the launch of the new Vauxhall Frontera SUV in 2024, alongside the introduction of an all-new Grandland SUV. More details will be provided in due course.
