What is Motability?

RJTK Automotive have always had a strong partnership with Motability and we have over 3,000 customers currently on the scheme. We also have great relationships with local companies who have the know how and skills to adapt vehicles to suit the needs of our customers.

If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) , the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) you may be eligible to join the Motability Scheme. You can choose from a huge variety of vehicles and drive away with insurance, tax and maintenance all covered by the scheme.

Do I need to create an online account?

For your own convenience, we would recommend setting up an online Motability account. To speed up the process when you visit us in dealership, you can pre-register your personal details and allowance information, leaving us more time to find the right vehicle to suit your needs.

Are you an existing Motability customer? You can order your next next vehicle directly online by selecting ‘New car application’ and following the on-screen instructions.

New Vehicle Payment

In February 2022 the Motability Scheme announced a new payment to help with the increasing price of new cars, due to global shortages.

It's called the New Vehicle Payment for cars and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles ()

From 1 March 2023, we’ve increased it from £250 to £750.

If you’ve already had your £250 payment, you’ll get an extra £500 – this will take your total New Vehicle Payment to £750.

*This is not your Good Condition Payment – that’s money you get back at the end of your lease if you return your vehicle in good condition. Your New Vehicle Payment will not affect whether you’re eligible for a Good Condition Payment or how much you’ll receive.*
Am I eligible for the New Vehicle Payment?

You’ll receive this payment a few weeks after you drive away your new vehicle, if you order your first vehicle before the end of 2023.

If you were already on the Scheme before 1 January 2022, you’ll be eligible whenever you get your next vehicle.

How much will I receive?
If you’re eligible:
- You’ll receive one payment of £750.
If you’ve already had a £250 New Vehicle Payment:
- We’ll send you another £500 – this will take your total New Vehicle Payment to £750
You’ll get this by bank transfer if you’ve saved your bank details in your Motability Scheme online account. If not, you’ll get a cheque.
