The motor industry is a very special place. Our products are ever-evolving and the market is constantly shifting - meaning we have to be the best in the business to excel amongst our competitors.
Whether you're a petrol head looking for a career in fixing cars, a financial analyst who's fast with their figures or just someone who gets a kick out of seeing a customer walk away happy, there's a place for you in the RJTK Group.
Our technicians are highly valued members of the team and we pride ourselves on offering a unique pay plan which rewards our techs for their individual experience and knowledge.
Our Service Advisors and Parts Advisors are at the forefront of our business, forging relationships with new customers and retaining our regulars by offering an exceptional customer experience.
In an ever-evolving motor industry, our Sales Executives are our product experts who go the extra mile to deliver an unrivalled customer experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Our senior management team have worked together for over 10 years to nuture our award-winning businesses. We're looking for driven, successful and inspirational leaders to join our team.
This year, we celebrate 25 years since RJTK Automotive CEO, Robin Wilson, opened the door to his first Vauxhall dealership in Scunthorpe. Since then, we've opened 9 further successful dealerships and our RJTK family now consists of over 300 colleagues, working alongside manufacturer partners Vauxhall, Kia, Suzuki and Maxus.
Our dealerships span the majority of Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and even Lancashire. We've built a trustworthy reputation and won plenty of awards along the way, too. You might know us locally as Wilson & Co, Drayton Motors and Autohub.
Working for RJTK Automotive comes with a whole host of benefits. Whilst we offer competitive pay plans, we also ensure our family members are well-compensated outside of their salaries.
Our family members' wellbeing is very important to us. If you find yourself struggling with physical or mental health, we have a great support network to help.
Whether we're dressing up in costumes for charity or aiding our local foodbanks with deliveries at Christmas, we believe our brands should support our local communities.
Your ambition is our ambition. We recognise hard work and commitment in our ranks. Through training and coaching, we can help you achieve your career goals.
We're big enough to offer perks, but small enough to understand family values. You're more than a number at RJTK Automotive and everyone is an important part of the team.
It is important to us that all of our colleagues believe in our core values and that we endeavour to treat each and every customer like one of the family.
Let's face it. For a long time now, the motor industry has been male-dominated and understandably stereotyped. At RJTK Automotive, we acknowledge the importance of challenging outdated attitudes and ideas within our trade. We're incredibly proud of the women in our workforce and understand the impact inclusivity has on the generations of automotive professionals to come.
Our Group Managing Director, Darren, has spent all of his career in the motor industry, having tried his hand at many roles along the way:
"My whirlwhind automotive career began at 17 as a Valeter at Clifford’s Vauxhall in Gravesend, Kent. I was soon promoted to service driver before securing a step up as Site Manager at my local Ford dealership. My ultimate goal at that point was to join the Sales team, so I offered to work all weekends and days off for that department.
Once I was given the opportunity to try Sales, I out-performed 75% of the experienced Sales Consultants on site! I was a trainee Sales Consultant for 6 months before moving on to a fully-fledged sales role, which I successfully enjoyed for 2 years. When the opportunity arose to become a Business Manager, I grasped it with both hands and, within time, I was made New Car Sales Controller at Ford in Sittingbourne.
After relocating to Lincolnshire, I took a position as Used Car Controller before joining Ford as a Business Manager, once again. In 2004 I decided to give self-employment a go, working as a Partner in an independent Ford specialist - which was a great learning opportunity! In 2009 I joined Thurlby Motors as Sales Manager before finally joining the RJTK Group as General Manager at Drayton Motors Kia in Boston. Since I joined the group, I have worked closely with Robin Wilson, CEO of the RJTK Group to further grow the RJTK brand. Now with four Kia dealerships, three Vauxhall dealerships, a Suzuki site, a Maxus dealership AND our Autohub used car site under our belt, we are finally in the position to pass on the baton and help others carve a great career for themselves in the motor trade. There is nothing more pleasing that to see people grow within the business.
What drives me? I have always been determined to achieve my goals and had great role models in my parents. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I truly believe the motor industry offers an exciting, varied and rewarding career with lots of opportunities! Trust me, i've done it!"
After 5 years on the valeting team, Brandon had an itch and he wanted to try something new. With the support of his manager, Brandon took a giant leap and joined the RJTK Smart Repair team. Here’s his story:
“I loved valeting for Drayton Motors Kia, but after a few years, I felt like I was ready to try something new. I told my manager that I wanted to stay within the business but I was interested in learning a new role. As soon as this Smart Repair opportunity came up, my manager put me forward and a trial was arranged for me. Once I got on the tools, I knew this was exactly what I'd been looking for. Learning a new skill has not only totally changed my career, but it has made me feel great about myself too – I had to step out of my comfort zone and my confidence has grown as a result. Now I get to travel all over the group and meet lots of new people.”
Brandon now travels Lincolnshire in his RJTK Smart Repair van, perfecting our stock and repairing anything from paint chips and scuffs to bumper corners and full wheel faces.
In Ellie’s own words “Although I enjoyed school and college, I knew that university wasn't the right fit for me, which is why I began looking for apprenticeships. I saw this job at Wilson and Co being advertised and due to my love of business and maths at college I knew it was something I would be interested in, so applied and was lucky enough to have been offered the position. During my time at Wilson and Co I have enjoyed learning lots of different roles which has assisted me in my AAT studies.”
Owen says, "When I started at Wilson and Co back in April 2019,I was pretty nervous as I’ve never had a job inside the motor trade. However after meeting all the people here they’ve all been great in helping me transition into this role. I’m learning new skills every day which help me carry out my work day to day and I use this knowledge in the college assignments I’ve been asked to do, so I can push towards the qualification I’m completing.
Summer says, "I started at Drayton Motors in October 2021 as Apprentice Accounts Assistant after deciding that university wasn’t the path for me. Since then, I have completed my Level 3 AAT and have been now promoted to a fully-qualifiedaccounts assistant. During my apprenticeship, I achieved Apprentice of the Year at both Drayton Motors and my training provider, Grimsby Institute, which I am extremely proud of.”
